Why I opened 'My Farm Shop'...
There’s a deep-rooted story behind this online shop.
It wasn’t the brain fart I made it out to be, nor was it impulsive.
When I started my business at 18, I was a part-time, farmer-photographer. Those photographs were of agricultural life, and I turned them into various goods like chopping boards, placemats, mugs, prints, keyrings, and paperweights.
I attended agricultural shows and other events, and I did really well.
Over time, I built up my name and became a recognized photographer across many fields.
Within a few years, I grew into a successful wedding photographer, but as my wedding photography business took off, I had less time to attend shows and sell my products. Now, though, I’ve got a recognized name and website perfect for hosting an online shop.
Here’s the heartfelt truth: I’m so passionate about agriculture. Since day one, my business has always invested back into the farm to help it grow and thrive. I don’t get paid to farm; I do it because I love it. I care deeply about animal welfare, and I take pride in providing high-quality produce, the produce that I believe the great British public should be consuming.
My journey beautifully weaves together my passions for photography, the great outdoors, farming, and agriculture, creating a unique and personal connection with my businesses. It’s clear how much love and dedication I’ve poured into both my craft and my farm, and the authenticity behind my online farm shop is a powerful message.
Buying from My Farm Shop is a way to support British agriculture while I share my agricultural story, meaning you as customers have a huge part to play - you are not just buying products; you’re investing in my dream and the future of my farm.
Whilst I could open an online shop and reap the rewards, I really feel my investment of any profits from this shop aught to be into my agricultural business.
I will be sharing updates, blogs, and stories to forge deeper connections with you all, making sure you are part of my journey, too.
Many of you will be pleased to know that I'll be offering 'vintage' prints from some of my original collections. Including world famous 'DJ' the Highland calf.
